You journey will take place along the picturesque coastline of “Costa degli Dei” (coast of the gods). The southern Tyrrhenian coast stretches 55km from Pizzo Calabro to Nictorera, Tropea falling right in the center.
You will witness the long white beaches contrasted against the crystal clear blue waters, where you can see right down to the bottom of the ocean. The coastline highlights Tropea old town perched on a cliffside, followed by kilometeres of dramatic cliffsides and and small coves that are only accessible by boat.
Tropea is considered the “Pearl of the Tyrrhenian” notably for is admirable beauty. Following along the coastline is Capo Vaticano, a beautiful viewpoint and attraction for many tourists to witness the Aeolian Islands in Sicily.
The coast is also called "The Beautiful Coast" due to the breathtaking views of the Aeolian Islands that are only 32 nautical miles away. Starting from the north, the municipalities that fall on this stretch of coast are: Pizzo Calabro, Vibo Valentia, Briatico, Zambrone, Parghelia, Tropea, Ricadi, Joppolo and Nicotera.
Tropea the pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea won the Italian competition for the most beautiful town in Italy ‘Borgo dei Borghi 2021’!
The renowned seaside town in the province of Vibo Valentia conquered the competition due to it’s rich history and traditions. This was featured on the popular Italian TV channel Rai 3.
Tropea old town is situated on a cliffside that faces the crystal-clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The most famous feature of Tropea is the small island that holds the Sanctuary of Santa Maria.
